How to Achieve Good Contrast: Red and Green

Here's a macro photo of a red beetle on a bed of green leaves. I think the darker color of the red beetle provides good contrast to the lighter green color of the leaves. I was able to take this photo by spending a bit of time looking for insects in their natural habitat.

The photo was taken at the La Mesa Ecopark in Fairview, Quezon City. The La Mesa Ecopark is one of my favorite places to take macro photos.

There is an area near a small pond that I often visit in La Mesa Ecopark to hunt for photos. I easily found the red beetle amid the green leaves because its color stood out.
