Nature Scenes: Damselflies

Updated: Oct 24, 2019

The best thing about photographing nature is the abundance of subjects. For me, insects in their natural habitat always make for a good nature scene photo. With a little patience, the scene can turn out to be very interesting.

damselflies, insects, nature, mating, odonata, zygoptera
A pair of dainty blue damselflies (Order Odonata, suborder Zygoptera) near a pond early in the morning.

There is small fishpond in my parents' home and often, damselflies and dragonflies would be seen darting near the pond's surface in search of prey. I was lucky to have seen a pair of damselflies near the pond. Also, the pair remained steady long enough for me to take a few shots.
